As a unique solution, GF Machining Solutions launches the CUT S 400 Dedicated, a machine specifically designed to meet the high demands of the energy and aerospace segments. This innovative solution marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of unparalleled precision and efficiency in turbine manufacturing.

This cutting-edge wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) technology, developed in close collaboration with customers and partners, was pioneered over a decade ago specifically for producing fir-tree disks. The CUT S 400 Dedicated is the result of our longstanding experience and leadership in this application, integrating all the know-how and detailed optimisation provided by our customers. This machine is tailored for a wide range of shapes and sizes of turbine disks, making it the perfect answer to the industry’s rigorous requirements in the energy and aerospace segments. Unlike our other machines where precision is paramount, the main focus here is on enhancing productivity through ease of maintenance and reliability improvements, ensuring that it serves as an efficient production machine with key advantages.

The machine integrates advanced technologies such as tilting and rotating axes for precise and stable machining operations, suitable for both light and heavy workpieces. The integration of the Intelligent Speed Power Generator (ISPG), 3D-printed heads for more effective flushing and Spark Track technology make this machine a revolutionary Wire-cutting EDM machine.

Improved traceability

The eTracking software enables comprehensive monitoring of machine status, job progress and processing traceability in real time. This functionality enables prompt responses to any deviations, ensuring consistent quality and performance. Additionally, the Spark Track function optimises spark energy in real-time to prevent wire breaks and maximise cutting speed. The machine’s design makes it easy to access for cleaning and maintenance, reducing downtime and operating costs.

Automation capability for increased productivity

The CUT S 400 Dedicated is fully designed for lights-out production. It has a wire coil capacity of up to 45 kg, six highly-efficient filters and seamless integration into automation solutions. The SMART wire spools with RFID (radio frequency identification) technology improve traceability and efficiency in the production process. All these automation options, combined with a 28% reduction in daily energy consumption, make the CUT S 400 Dedicated a future-proof machine that does not compromise on performance, precision and energy efficiency.

Focus on customer needs

«The CUT S 400 Dedicated is further proof of our strong customer focus in the energy and aerospace sectors,» emphasizes Umang Maradia, Head of Technical Unit EDM. «We are confident that the solutions integrated with this machine based on learnings from more than a decade of experience in fir-tree disk production will enable our customers to achieve new levels of productivity, reliable performance and precision.»

The CUT S 400 Dedicated will continue to push the boundaries of efficiency and precision. Visit our website and learn all about this innovation.
