Temperature stability

History

1995

Founded in a garage, STEP-TECH (Spindle Tools Engineering Periphery Technology) launches to develop the world's best high-performance milling spindle.

1996

STEP-TECH develops and produces its first 42,000 rpm high-speed motor spindle for Mikron AG.

1997

The company renames itself Step-Tec and moves onto the premises of its new owner, Mikron AG.

1997

Step-Tech high-speed spindles mill integral parts from aluminum plates.

2000

To meet growing demand for its products, Step-Tec moves to a new modern building in Luterbach.

2015

More than 20,000 Step-Tec spindles are in use around the globe as Step-Tec celebrates its 20th anniversary and builds its 4,000th HVC 140 motor spindle.

2019

Step-Tec integrates with the sales, development, assembly and repairs departments in a new GF Machining Solutions building in Biel.

2020

Step-Tec celebrates its 25th anniversary.
